Alpha-1 appeared in the 1987 series of TMNT episode "The Foot Soldiers are Revolting". Shredder tried to replace Bebop and Rocksteady with an "intelligent" and "thinking" Foot Soldier called "Alpha-1". Because Bebop and Rocksteady were playing a videogame when Krang was programming Alpha-1, the main computer malfunctioned and overloaded the device. As a result, Alpha-1 comes out more intelligent than Krang and Shredder wanted. Alpha-1 also gains the ability to control the other Foot robots.
