The Ape Shaman is the leader of a dangerous humanoid monkey-like tribe called the Ape-Men in the Primal episode, "Rage of the Ape-Men". After his tribe captured Spear and Fang, he created a fighting tournament for whoever is the last one standing will get the honor of killing them. One warrior, Krog, manages to win the contest by wiping out the other opponents. The ape shaman then gives Krog a small drop of a strange, black liquid. Then, through the power of the green moon, Krog turns into a giant, bulky monstrous version of himself and nearly kills Fang in a brutal fight. But Spear couldn't take watching his friend getting killed and broke free from his restraints. Seeing that he is outmatched by Krog, he climbs up the pillar to where the black liquid is being stored upon. When Spear made it to the top, the shaman tried to attack him but is thrown off the pillar to his death, making the spectators shocked and angered.
