Anarchist

Anarchists are villains who come in many forms ranging from nonviolent "hippie" movements to piratical antics of extremists or even terrorists. Due to their tendency to take down governments in pursuit of absolute freedom, these villains are often Chaotic Evil or Chaotic Neutral; however some Anarchists may have their own set of codes (e.g. August Walker, Oswald Cobblepot (Telltale), Silco, Arnim Zola (2010 Animated Marvel Universe), and Nolanverse's Bane) or work exclusively for their own self-benefit (e.g. All For One, Baron Zemo (MCU), Shredder (1987), Dr. Eggman (Sonic X)).

Anarchists are by definition the opposite of Totalitarians, villains who wish to establish a regime with total political power.

This wiki chronicles the exploits of villains who utilize more extreme and violent forms of anarchy to either bring down the ruling systems via revolt (especially if the governments are stable and relatively benevolent towards their people) or tear down current beliefs and societies in order to either build new ones, leave them in ruins or simply create utter chaos. The motivations for Anarchists can often be seen as their belief in searching for "true freedom". In many cases, however, anarchists overthrow systems for fun and because they enjoying causing suffering. However, some anarchists truly believe in freedom.
