Charlie Duffy

Charlie Duffy is the main antagonist of Pooh's Adventures with Doctor Who - Kerblam!. He is a human from the planet Kandoka who works as a cleaner in Kerb!am. However, he is very unhappy with the fact that only 10% of humans get jobs, whereas 90% of automatons get jobs. As a result, he creates deadly bubble wrap which explodes when someone pops it and plans to have an army of Kerb!am Men teleport deliveries of the bubble wrap to kill people so that the machines would get the blame, which would result in humans losing their trust in automatons and more people getting jobs.

Whil trying to enact his scheme, Charlie ends up falling in love with a girl named Kira, even though he doesn't mean to. When the Kerb!am system kills Kira in the same way that Charlie has had other workers killed, Charlie is devastated.

When the Doctor orders the Kerb!am Men to detonate the bubble wrap in the packages they are holding, Charlie winds up being killed in the explosion, despite being told to go with the heroes.

Even though his plan to erode humans' trust in automatons fails, his actions do convince the heads of Kerb!am, Judy Maddox and Mr. Slade to make Kerb!am more reliant on a human workforce.

He is portrayed by Leo Flanagan.

Quotes[]

I, er... I saw you arrive earlier. Wasn't expecting anyone new down here.

(Regarding Kira) She smells... perfect. I haven't told anyone else. Been on my own here for a long time.

I don't think we should do this. If Mr. Slade finds out...

(As Kira is about to pop some of Charlie's deadly bubble wrap) No, Kira, Don't!

I lied on my application. Gave you a sob story, so you'd let me in, and you bought it. I've studied cybernetics, explosives, teleportation. I have worked for this. (Judy Maddox: I don't understand.) Ten percent? They want us to be grateful that ten percent of people get to work? What about the other ninety percent? What about our futures? Because without action, next time it will be seven percent, then five, then one. I am stronger than you. I am not going to stand by and accept it. People like me, my generation, we change things. We make things happen.
