Claw Noir is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Shadybug) of Miraculous World: Paris – Tales of Shadybug and Claw Noir.
He is an evil version of Cat Noir from an alternate universe where he and Ladybug are villains.
Appearance[]
Physical appearance[]
Adrien is a tall and fair-skinned teenage boy with blond hair that is swept all over to the left and faded shaved on the right. He also has emerald-green eyes and has a rosy tint on his cheeks, nose and the tips of his ears.
He wears a black turtleneck with vertical yellow, green and blue stripes on the right side of the collar, a white leather jacket, dark gray jeans, a black belt with a silver buckle and black boots.
He wears a thick layer of black eye liner, his fingernails are painted black and he wears a pair of small silver stud earrings.
As Claw Noir[]
He has a wild mane of spike green hair, purple eyes with slitted pupils, and black lips. He wears a black bodysuit with tears in the knees, a black mask over the top half of his face, fake cat ears on his head with a hole in the edge of the left ear, a black leather jacket, a spiky silver ball hanging from the front of his neck, a long black belt with silver spikes around his waste that sticks out the back like a tail, tattered at the end and a pair of calf high steel-toed black boots with spikes at the top.
Personality[]
Unlike his counterpart who is kind and caring, Adrien is cold and distant towards others after losing his mother as he missed Emilie so much. He also bares a strong resentment towards his father over how he got over his mother's death and moved on. Strange enough, he also felt attracted to Marinette Dupain-Cheng, admiring her from afar.
As Claw Noir, Adrien becomes more aggressive and destructive with his powers showing no hesitation or fear of hurting others or himself with them. But he is more impulsive and lazy as he let his guard down allowing Shadybug to easily steal his ring but he also showed his vulnerable and naive side feeling hurt about how much the Supreme kept from them and even briefly tried to comfort his partner.
During his final confrontation with Cat Noir, like his partner, Claw Noir poured out all his frustrations and anger towards him about what it feels like to be left behind, alone and forgotten after losing a loved one.
Similar to Monarch, while fighting his heroic version as he wanted to get his good counterpart's and Ladybug's Miraculouses to summon Gimmi and use the wish to bring back his mother.
As Claw Noir[]
As an alternate version of Cat Noir, he exhibits most of the same abilities as his heroic counterpart as, he exhibits massively enhanced strength, speed and agility, to the point where he and Shadybug proved superior during their two clashes against their heroic counterparts, though this could could be attribute to their unrestricted powers and their more aggressive nature. Despite his physical superiority however, Claw Noir seems less intelligent than his counterpart, as he is overall much more aggressive and wasn't able to realize Cat Noir intentionally exposed himself.
Much like Cat Noir, he also possesses the ability to use Cataclysm. Due to removed restrictions on his miraculous however, he can use his power as many times as he likes.
However, Claw Noir's power comes at price as a result of the safety restrictions being removed on his Miraculous (be it due to the Supreme tampering with the Miraculous or of him using his Miraculous for evil), Claw Noir suffers side effects as a result from using his Miraculous (shown as a series of black veins across his neck and face), alongside his partner Shadybug. According to her, the effects are gradual, though Marinette attempting to summon Gimmi ends up accelerating the process, resulting in the affliction spreading to her face. It's unknown how the affliction affects Claw Noir physically or what happens when the affliction is complete, though according to Shadybug the use of their Miraculous superpowers "will slowly destroy [them]". The affliction seems to affect the user physically however, as both him and Shadybug are able to feel the affliction when its removed. Overall, the effects are similar to the effects caused by wearing a broken Miraculous.
Trivia[]
- He is voiced by Bryce Papenbrook.
- Contrary to his good counterpart, he became depressed by his mother's death and was obsessed with bringing her back by using the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses to summon Gimmi, much like the evil counterpart of his father, who ironically was able to move on from his wife's death and find happiness in his life.
