Héctor

Héctor is the deuteragonist of the Disney/Pixar film, Coco. He is the spirit of a Mexican musician who died and became a resident of the Land of the Dead. Héctor helps Miguel in his quest to find the missing singer Ernesto de la Cruz and escape the Land of the Dead. Prior to the events of the movie, Héctor left his family to play music with Ernesto, leaving his wife to banish it from the family forever. Héctor wanted to return home to his daughter, Coco, Miguel's great-grandmother, but Ernesto poisoned him with a toxic drink and stole all of Héctor's songs and guitar, claiming all to be his own. Up until Miguel came to the Land of the Dead and met both of them, Ernesto's gotten away with it. In the end, Miguel helped Coco remember her father and have the family's music ban lifted by playing his famous song, "Remember Me".
