The Headless Horseman is a terrifying ghost rider and is the main villain in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow segment in Walt Disney's 1949 animated classic, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
Bio[]
According to The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the Horseman was originally a Hessian soldier who fought for the British empire during the American Revolutionary War. He was known as a deadly soldier who would take off his opposition's heads during battle on horseback. However, during a battle, the soldier was hit by a cannonball that took his head off. Ultimately, this event created the ghostly rider that is known as The Headless Horseman, forcing him to go out every Halloween to find either his own head or a suitable replacement. This eventually led to the Horseman chasing down Ichabod Crane on that fateful night while he was riding though Sleepy Hollow in order to get home, which led to Ichabod never being seen or heard from again.
