In The Smurfs and the Magic Flute, he was voiced by Michael Sorich. In the 80's series, he is voiced by Frank Welker, who also does Scooby-Doo, Fred Jones, and many others. In the live-action film series and Sony animated shorts, he is voiced by Gary Basaraba. He will be voiced by Joe Manganiello in the upcoming fully animated Smurfs: The Lost Village.
In the cartoon, he is the one who finds Smurfette and brings her to the village.
