Liam's Typhlosion

This Typhlosion, nicknamed "Ignis", is one of Liam's Pokemon he owns.

Story[]

With Liam[]

As Cyndaquil[]

Typhlosion first appeared as a Cyndaquil in Don't Touch That 'dile, After he was shielded by Liam, Cyndaquil decided to be his partner in Johto.

In The Double Trouble Header, he was seen battling a Sentret and won, allowing Liam to capture it.

In Fighting Flyer with Fire, Cyndaquil was chosen as his third Pokemon, where it struggled against Honchknow. He took a hard hit from Aerial Ace, and looked like it was unable to battle, but he somehow got back up thanks to Liam's encouragement despite the damage it took from Aerial Ace. He began to strain so much power that it started glowing, and in doing so, he evolved into Quilava.

As Quilava[]

Honchkrow used another Heat Wave, but with his newfound energy, power and speed, Quilava activated his Ability, Flash Fire, to nullify the attack and making his Fire attacks stronger than normal, he used his newly learned Aerial Ace, before finishing off the Big Boss Pokemon with his newly learned Flamethrower, dealing twice the power due to Flash Fire allowed him to finally take down Honchkrow, and earning him the Zephyr Badge.

In Machoke, Machoke Man, Quilava was used as Liam's final Pokemon against Chuck, it gained the upperhand with speed but was slowed down by Bubble Beam, before being hit by Dynamic Punch, it tried to grab Quilava using Dynamic Punch on both hands, but he stopped its attack with his bare hands or paws, refusing to give up. Liam and the other encouraged to keep on going, showing its will and fighting spirit, this caused Quilava to evolve into Typhlosion.

As Typhlosion[]

After evolving, the newly-evolved Typhlosion was able to push Hitmonlee back with power itself. With this now form, he was able to deal some damage with Aerial Ace with Vulpix using Extrasensory, before finishing the Kicking Pokemon off with his newly-learned Thunder Punch, winning the match for Liam and earning the Storm Badge.

He was used in Plant it Now... Diglett Later!, where he revealed to have learned Focus Blast and assisted Ton-chan II to stop the thieves and later Team Rocket.

In Nerves of Steelix, he was used as his second Pokemon against Jasmine where he battled Magnezone and Skarmory, he defeated Magnezone with his recently learned Eruption, but was quickly defeated by Aggron's Head Smash.

In Beauty is Skin Deep, Typhlosion was used as his last Pokemon to face Clair's Garchomp after Togetic was easily defeated in one hit by Rock Slide due to protecting Kanehekili, at a long lengthy battle after Kanehekili was about to be hit by Aqua Tail, Typhlosion mustered up the power to use Flare Blitz, after Azusa and Miki shouts to him that Liam was using the wrong attack, though it defeated Garchomp, he ran out of energy due to suffering damage from Flare Blitz's recoil and also collapses, and declared unable to battle too, resulting in Liam and Miki's handicap tag battle Gym match ending in defeat.

In A Claim to Flame, Ignis was used in its battle against Orion and his Steelix, though it had a rocky start, after being hit by consecutive Dig and Iron Tails, Liam surprised Azusa when he commanded him to use Blast Burn, which he managed to defeat the Iron Snake Pokemon, giving Liam the win.

Personality and characteristics[]

When Typhlosion was a Cyndaquil, he was initially shy and timid due to its nature and according to the Pokedex. But after being protected by Liam, he managed to open its shell and got along with its fellow teammates. Cyndaquil is shown to love the interest of battling and Ben states it was a perfect fit for Liam from the start.

After he evolved into Quilava, he became more determined and stoic, overcoming his shyness and becoming more braver, he continued this personality even after evolving into Typhlosion. Typhlosion is shown to be fierce and powerful, and is shown to hate losing, this was shown when it lost against Jasmine's Aggron, and later tied with Clair's Garchomp.
