As a Feebas, Jewel was shy and timid around other Pokémon due to her ugly and shabby looking appearance. She also hated being called "ugly" and hated being judged for her appearance.
After evolving into Milotic, Jewel became a whole new Pokémon. She became pretty, tender and elegant. She also gained the power to becalm such emotions as anger and hostility to quell the bitter feuding.
