In Ryan's Adventures Series[]
He met Ryan before he met Miki as a Pichu. While she is Miki's Pokémon, he does train with her and Ryan on occasions.
In "Hello, Pummelo! (RAoP:AitOI)", Ryan temporarily used Kanehakili as a Pichu after Miki went into a sad moment and she is cheered up when Ryan told her that he would compete in her place, which makes Miki happy, knowing her Pichu will ???. With support from Ryan's Eevee Kath, he managed to get on Drake's Dragonite and shocked him with Thundershock but it also shocked himself since he is a
He, along with Cera's Pikachu, Pinkipoo, Pookivil and Liam's Grotle were petrified by Hunter J. But were later rescued and unpetrified by Ryan F-Freeman, leaving Miki completely traumatized and distant towards her Pokémon as a result.
As shown in the following episode, he was looked after by Ryan since Miki was still in depression due to her traumatized event with Hunter J. He had been used by Ryan much more than Miki did.
Although in Liam's Adventures version, he evolved, in Ryan F-Freeman's Adventures, he waited a very long time before deciding to evolve into his Kantonian form or Alolan form or not. But he stated that he was not ready to evolve just yet, this was translated by Ryan.
In Rescuing the Unwilling (RAoPtS:S&M:UA), he come across a Nihilego where they fought Lusamine, Ryan asked Miki to get him to use the Thunder Stone out, she does so and he let one of Ryan's Pikachus, to finally evolved into its Alolan Form of Raichu, allowing him to get the type advantage, he used his newly learned power and speed and gained a new move in Psychic, allowing him to deal a lot of damage with the help of Ted Jr, allowing Ryan to catch one of the Nihilego, after it reformed.
After defeating Lusamine and saving her, Kanehekili decided not to evolve, confirming that he refuses to evolve into one.
He was seen present in Pokemon Journeys, where Ted Jr evolved into a Raichu. As of Flash of the Titans! (RAoPtS:PJ), he appears to be incapable of evolving, meaning he permanently can't evolve at all with a Thunder Stone, even if she tried to. This was due to the fact he is capable of using Gigantamax.
Miki had been fighting off her depression for so long, that she couldn't concentrate with her Pikachu more. Kanehekili was seen training with Ryan's Raichu, who had been practicing Thunder Punch which kept failing.
In PJ090, he started forgetting his moves, and eventually devolving into Pichu. But not long after, he, alongside the rest of the Pokemon had turned into eggs. Moments after the Alternate World Team Rocket was defeated, Ash, his friends, and their Alternate World counterparts, along with some help from Cynthia, Alternate World Professor Rowan, Jessie, James, and Alternate World Nurse Joy, prayed for Dialga and Palkia to stop fighting and pleaded them to turn their Pokemon back to their normal forms. Just then, a bright golden silhouette of Arceus appeared, calmed the temporal and spacial Pokémon down and destroyed the Red Chain that the Alternate World Team Rocket had them binded by. Dialga and Palkia then fixed the damage their fighting caused and returned everyone back to their respective dimensions, while also granting their wish to reverse the devolution effects on all of their Pokémon, returning Kanehekili all the way back to Pikachu again.
