In Friends to the End, Charizard was used against the finals against Assunta, although he was nearly defeated, after a combination from Flamethrower due to Blaze, he was able to defeat Venusaur with a Seismic Toss, eliminating Assunta from the League and winning the Kanto League for Liam.

He battled against Dragonite in Hello, Pummelo!, and despite almost defeating it, he was ultimately defeated by Hyper Beam, thus losing the match for Liam.

He and Charizard are the strongest duo and they're bestest of friends ever since Charizard was a Charmander. They are considered like brothers.
