Malamar is a Dark/Psychic-type Pokemon evolved from an Inkay.

- In Liam's Adventures of Pokemon the Series, one evil Malamar cruelly hypnotized Team Rocket, Dedenne, Bonnie, Serena, Clemont and Officer Jenny as well as Miki, Sydney, Oscar, Stitch, Dora, Kathy, the whole entire Light Music Club minus Azusa and Mugi, the entire Sword Art Online group minus Kirito, Asuna, Leafa and Silica(who had covered their eyes). Miki is even seen wrapped in one of Malamar's tentacles while she is in a trance. Only Liam, Mugi, Azusa, Ben, Ash, Kirito, Asuna, Leafa, Silica, Pina, and Meowth we the only ones left unhypnotized. In Facing the Grand Design!, one Malamar, the first one they encountered, disappeared for unknown reasons before it left, it was later revealed that it was captured by Liam which it was used in Tough Guy Trials! but was revealed to disobey him due to its malevolent nature, it remained disobedient until Some Kind of Laziness! where it lost another battle due to its disobedience but was hurt badly, and Liam had to treat its wounds, when it saw Liam still cared for it despite its malevolent, stubbornness and its disobedience, it willingly let him nursed it back to health, after Malamar was healed, its malevolent and stubbornness had disappeared, and decided to fight alongside him, revealing that he had given up on its grand design and world domination, and gained its respect to Liam, it officially starts listening to his commands. However, in Ryan's series, Malamar resists Liam's capture and remains a wild Pokémon.
- In Team Robot In Pokemon XY The Series, one evil Malamar cruelly hypnotized Officer Jenny, Serena, Bonnie, Clemont, Dedenne, Team Rocket, Pikachu, some SUPS1 members, Team Robot's enemies, The DigiDestined and their Digimon, The Mixels and several other Pokémon in an attempt to take over the world and to torment Meowth and Ash Ketchum. But luckily, Team Robot came to the rescue and freed everyone from its control. However, after boasting its grand plan, it escaped. In the 54th episode, Elsa, her sister, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven will reunite with Ash and his friends and introduce them to their Pokémon friend, Malamar. At first, Ash and his friends did not trust their friend due their last experience with a Malamar, but Elsa and Anna tell them that Malamar is a good Pokémon and proved it to them by showing them the place where they met it and became friends. They even showed them that it is also gentle and kind to random Pokémon and would help those who are in need or in mortal danger. However, when Ash, Serena, Bonnie, Jessie, and Officer Jenny were captured by the three evil Malamar that are plotting to take over the world, Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf as well as the good Malamar will assist Clemont and James in rescuing their friends and save the world from certain destruction. After the evil Malamar escaped and everyone is safe and sound, one of the good Malamar asks Elsa if it can be her Pokémon, which she gladly accepts. During Team Flare's attack in Lumiose City, Prince Hans reveals to the heroes he is responsible for the evil Malamar incident, as Hans, Maleficent and Jafar bring out three evil Malamar to help out Lysandre's Pyroar and Shiny Gyarados and Lysandre's recruit's Pokemon Team to fight Ash, Alain and the rest of the heroes on top of the Prism Tower. Later Starlight Glimmer, Malva, Elsa, Anna and Team Robot's enemies (They were betrayed by Team Flare) joins the heroes to fight Lysandre, his recruits and their Pokémon team. Later in Rocking Kalos Defenses, the three evil Malamar are finally defeated. Jafar's Malamar was defeated by Elsa's Scizor uses X-Scissor, Magnamon defeats Maleficent's Malamar and at last Prince Hans' Malamar was defeated by Takato and Guilmon as Gallantmon firing Lightning Just at it.
- In Tabby's Adventure Series, Shadow Darknight owned a Malamar in order to have it kill Dabi. His father, Zermanix later owns a Malamar after it evolves from his Inkay.
