Marina Shimizu

Marina Shimizu (清水マリーナ) is a young Japanese-Australian Digidestined Child. She is in Possession of the Crest of Compassion. She 10 years old and she is in fourth grade.

Bio

She comes from a family of marine biologists and and oceanographers. Her grandparents moved to Japan from Australia to study the marine life.

Four years later after the adventures of Digimon Adventure 1, Marina decided to study abroad in Sydney, Australia.

Appearance

Marina has spiky cobalt blue hair, tan skin and blue eyes.

In 1995, she wears a pair of light orange koala-printed pajamas.

In 1999, she wears a hat, a short-sleeved shirt, pleated skirt, and brown sandals. Her underwear is a mint green camisole and a pair of amethyst panties. After taking a bath in Devimon's illusionary mansion, she wears a peach bathrobe over her underwear.

When escaping from the shower in Kokatorimon's cruise ship with Sora, Mimi and the other girls, Marina has a white towel wrapped around her body.

By 2002, when studying abroad in Sydney, Australia, Marina's school uniform is a navy wool blazer tied around her waist, neat buttoned-up pastel green shirt, a black-and-white checkered skirt, a pair of white, long knee-length socks and black polished Mary-Jane shoes.

Personality

Due to her tragic past, Marina is anxious and fearful around large bodies of water as a result of her mother's drowning death. She is also cautious about the dangers around waters.

On the plus side, she is compassionate, trusting, fair, wise and alert. Since she is half-Australian, she also speaks in a Aussie accent.

History

In 1995, Marina became the chosen Digi-Destined child when she and her younger brother and sister (who are twins) woke up from their beds to see what was going on outside their window. The three of them saw two monsters battling.

In 1999, Her younger twin siblings, Bindi and Lowan were on a boating trip with their grandparents while she went to summer camp.

When she was very young, her mother passed away from drowning, this may be due to why she was terrified of the water as shown in Dolphmon Makes a Splash. She managed to conquer her fear with help from her Digimon partner Penguinmon, Arthur and Jaden, during the battle against Gesomon, and with Penguinmon digivolving in the process into Dolphmon to help her save her friends from Gesomon.

In 2000, during the war games, her widowed dad Carl met a widowed woman who lived with her father-in-law and her son.
