During her solo adventure in the Kanto region, Miki encountered a wild Vulpix.

As Vulpix[]
She made her debut as a Vulpix in "Trouble's Brewing!" After reuniting with her friends in Ekruteak City, Miki introduced them to her Vulpix. Later on, when Team Rocket tried to steal Sakura's Eevee away, Miki joined in the battle by and called out Vulpix to deal with the three villains, only to have Jessie's Arbok attack with Headbutt, sending her right back towards her young trainer. Arbok then prepared to strike, only to be stopped by Ace's Zigzagoon, Zig-Zag.
Vulpix also participated in at least three Johto gym battles.

Personality and characteristics[]
When she was a Vulpix, she was intelligent, hard-working and talented. She let her abilities stand out in the crowd and stayed modest. After she evolved into Ninetales, though she retained most of her personality, she had also matured into a delicate, refined and graceful fighter.
