Nero is the deuteragonist of the Devil May Cry franchise, appearing as the main protagonist of the 2008 action-adventure game Devil May Cry 4 and its 2019 sequel, Devil May Cry 5.
He is the illegitimate son of Vergil, the nephew of the legendary Devil Slayer Dante and the grandson of the legendary Demon Knight Sparda. Long separated from the rest of his family, Nero grew up unaware of his heritage, becoming a member of the Order of the Sword with a magical arm known as the Devil Bringer.
