Nicknamed "Orphan", this Alolan Marowak is one of Mio's Pokemon she owns.
Story[]
As Cubone[]
He first appeared as a Cubone in The Tower of Terror, after the loss of its mother that was killed by Team Rocket, and going into the afterlife at peace, he decided to join Mio and she subsequently caught him.
In Fire and Ice, He assisted Brock's Onix by freeing the Pokemon, and defeating Weezing by learning Fire Punch in the process.
In A Shipful of Shivers, Orphan let itself out on its own and attacked Ritsu out of vengeance for teasing Mio and Ben who were scared out of their wits when they saw a scary shadow.
In Memories in the Mist!, he briefly reunites with his deceased mother. He was trained much like Torracat did, and during the training, he evolved into an Alolan Marowak.

Orphan demonstrated its new move, Shadow Bone, which was able to break the rock.
Personality and characteristics[]
Orphan is shown to be easily startled like his trainer. But can be easily agitated due to Ritsu's antics, and will not hesitate to attack her to get back at Ritsu due to scaring Mio.
He can also cry a lot due to its species, making Mio comfort it and blaming Ritsu for her gory stories, although Mio was traumatized herself, this was shown in Ready, Willing, and Sableye! where he and Mio were terrified by a wild Sableye's silhouette, but later calmed down when they realised it was only a Pokemon.
After he evolved into Marowak, he realised that he was no longer scared and wouldn't worry about being afraid of danger, as well as overcoming his grief from his deceased mother. However, he is shown to have developed a hot-headed personality akin to Kiawe's Marowak.
Despite his evolution, he reveals that he still misses his mother but understands that she is inside of him in spirit, and will sometimes watch over him as part of his growth with Mio's care, and shows his true strengths hidden inside from his mother's spirit.

He doesn't like Ritsu's antics she makes, and that angers him. He still shows a dislike towards Ritsu's antics even after evolving into Marowak.
Mallow[]
Like Mallow, Orphan also lost a mother at an early age.

After Mio told Miki about Orphan's mother, and making Miki comfort for his lost mother, he seems to take a liking to Miki.

- He likes Spicy foods and dislikes Sour foods
- Out of all of Mio's Pokémon she owns, Orphan took the longest to evolve, spending a total of 1028 episodes as Cubone.
