Popla Cocapetri (プープラ・コカペトリ) is a cockatrice-based Mutos Reploid and one of the Einherjar Eight Warriors in Mega Man Zero 4. He takes control of the Living City to convert it into a front-line base for Operation Ragnarok.
History[]
Popla Cocapetri was previously employed in "electronic combat", adept at hacking and communications interference. He can access backdoor computer systems and interact directly with main coding; one favorite method of his, matching his cockatrice motif, is exploiting a failsafe protocol through laser etching inscriptions onto a Reploid's optical units, subconsciously activating a built-in self-containment sequence and override virus to take over the CPU of the victim, deactivating them as if they were petrified. He lost his job as Cyber-elves became the preferred hackers, infuriating him into joining Dr. Weil.
Zero notices Cocapetri after defeating Carnage Force 0 and pursues him. He questions Operation Ragnarok, but goes along with it as it is Dr. Weil's orders. He is confused by Zero, but becomes angry when he calls him a "grunt." He almost attacks, but is interrupted by Fenri Lunaedge's howl, who doesn't want him to spoil the fun. He bullies Sol Titanion, but is silenced by Pegasolta Eclair, who berates him for being late. When Craft describes Operation Ragnarok, Cocapetri sneers that once Area Zero is destroyed, no one will escape Dr. Weil.
Cocapetri takes control of an abandoned city whose infrastructure is connected to a computer system, authorizing its directives to reinforce its infrastructure for warfare as an impregnable base, issue junk botched process construction projects to wear away at Area Zero, and to destroy anyone that enters it through its security systems. He had a grudge against Zero for insulting him, but was still defeated.
Cocapetri is revived in Ragnarok to fight Zero again, aware that he will perish in the explosion but hoping to get revenge first. He fails, and is killed by Zero once more.
