Queen Calissa
Queen Calissa, also simply known as Calissa, is the overarching protagonist in the Barbie in A Mermaid Tale series.
She is the queen of Oceana and the daughter-in-law of Break Summers, the wife of Rip Summers, the mother of Merliah Summers, and the sister of Eris.
She is voiced by Nicole Oliver, who also voiced Sorceress of Castle Grayskull in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Carlita in Barbie of Swan Lake, Princess Ashlyn and Twyla in Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses, Dori in Barbie & the Diamond Castle, Princess Celestia in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Lilliana Roxelle in Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale and A Fairy Secret, Meiling Li in Cardcaptor Sakura, Zoe Trent in Littlest Pet Shop, and Lady Anne in Barbie in Rock 'N Royals.

Before Merliah was birth, Calissa and Eris were siblings which they not having virtues relationship by ways to be case. She is very clever in fact with lonesome, her being manners it, ruling her kingdom straightway which then behave to making Merillia under the permission. Every is not yet to does that, Eris had that truly dislikes her sister as well while she trying to taking over the kingdom and ruins her life anything. In years later, Calissa was encountered with Break and his son, Rip. Arranged to position, Calissa and Rip are declared to be married and their have eventually giving born of Merliah. However, her husband died by grief out for it, having Calissa to protect Merliah.
Although whilst that Merliah is a half human, half mermaid, Calissa actually loving her daughter which able to known that living in the underwater world will becomes more unsettled for her. She born with legs, only because of Eris, who hates her legs as she was freeing that alive. Ironically, Calissa intending change her order to gives Merliah to her father-in-law in with from thus, she was later dethrone by Eris that her being imprisoned by 15 years. Upon her captured, Calissa is losing her royal crown but never makes Merillia, casually that Eris revealed her deceit then abusing of power by rules the kingdom, but agrees to sabotaging the oceans.
She unable to takes her thwarted and try to talking with Eris, who usually turning against her by the way when Merliah, who was 16 teenager in her joined surfing match with her friends, Fallon and Hadley. After Merliah arrived in Oceana, Eris begins to deal with her and becomes fears by chasing around to clearly was way to seems that she catching into whirlpool. Upon Eris was banishing, Calissa was be saved as she reunited with her daughter, who retook the crown to her. Recovering the oceans together with Merillia, Calissa later gives a necklace to Merliah, soon in afterwards, she sees her daughter one match of surfing competition with her friends during their comes to Malibu.

- At the storybook, Calissa had the same hairstyle as Queen Isabella, the late ruler of Gardania from Barbie: Princess Charm School. Her hairstyle is also resembling to Queen Lorelei from Barbie: The Pearl Princess.
