Risu is a shy squirrel character from the Japanese company Sanrio, who is close friends with My Melody and Flat. Risu knows a lot about the forest and is a skilled guide when going for a picnic with friends. Risu's favorite food is acorns. Risu has rust-colored fur, an S-curve tail, yellow hair tuft, pointy ears, a white face, black oval eyes, and a yellow oval nose, though some versions show them with light yellow fur and a pink hair tuft.
