[Beginning scene: Gym. 3 is speaking into a megaphone]
3; [through megaphone] Hello, and welcome to the Grand Jumping 6 Festival!
6: 3!
3: What?
[Pan out to see 1, 2, 6, 3, and Arthur and his friends]
6: There's only us here!
3: We can still call it a festival. We've even put up some flags!
3: [through Megaphone] Can we do as many jumps as we like?
6: 3! You don't have to be the announcer all the time!
Agent 22:
3: But not for long!
Agent 22: It's the kids at the holiday club!
5: 2 lots of 3; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6! 6 things again!
[the 6 paint pots disappear]
Muffy Crosswire: Not anymore!
6: Look, on the display!
4: Blobs of slime!
[The 6 paint pots are returned, but they're arranged in one long line.]
3: That's not how they were before.
[THE PROBLEM BLOB BURBLES AND GRUNTS. THE BRAIN GAIN ZAPS THE STARS ON THE DISPLAY, AND THE POINTS APPEAR, 3 POINTS ON 2 SIDES.]
6: That's not right.
4: They don't look much like stars.
David Read: I agree. I don't think I've seen stars look like that.
3: The six pointy bits are back.
Jane Read: Yes, but it's the wrong type of arrangement.
5: Yes, there's 2 lots of 3 stuck together.
6: What about the stepladder?
Arthur Read: At least that's alright, isn't it?
5: She wants to go up one step at a time.
[the lady jumps up 2 steps at a time! The girl holding the ladder shakes her head]
3: That was 3 jumps of 2!
[THE PROBLEM BLOB BURBLES AND GRUNTS.]
6: That's the wrong arrangement of steps!
[The lady jumps up the ladder 3 steps at a time.]
4: And 2 jumps of 3!
5: What next?!
[The lady jumps right to the top of the ladder instantly]
Arthur Read: That was 1 jump of 6!
David Read: That's not how you climb steps at all!
D.W Read: I don't see what the problem is. It's still sixes.
Jane Read: Yes, D.W., but the six things have to be arranged the right way.
5: Yes, cause if they're not, anything could happen!
5: [VOICEOVER] If you shared a giant chocolate bar, six lots of one, the Blob would join it all up again.
5: [VOICEOVER] And an ant with six legs might get blobbed. And instead of two lots of three on each side, it would have one lot of six on one side.
5: [VOICEOVER] And shoelaces are hard enough to tie when holes are in the right place.
5: [VOICEOVER] What if two lots of three became one lot of six? That would be really hard to tie!
[FADE BACK TO REALITY]
5: We've got to get these sixes sorted out the right way.
6: Yes! [sees something] Oh, no!
[some more children enter, in groups of 2, holding hands]
6: How many children are there?
Three lots of two. That's six.
Buster Baxter: Let's count them. One, two, three, four, five, six. Yes! That's 6, alright!
5: There's 6 of them! They might get blobbed!
[The Problem Blob spits slime on a boy's hand. the children groan in disgust]
3: Oh, no!
5: They're going to disappear!
[the 6 children disappear!]
Arthur Read: Uh-oh!
6: We need Brain Gain to bring them back!
D.W. Read: I'll do it!
[D.W. jumps about in the Brain Gain Machine]
D.W. Read: Bring the children back! Bring the children back!
[The Brain Gain zaps the 6 children back, but they're all in a line, holding hands]
3: They're back.
6: But they're holding hands differently. That's 1 lot of 6.
4: What's going on?
[The children all stand around, separate from each other]
3: That's not right!
Arthur Read: That's 6 lots of 1!
[THEN, The children are arranged facing each other, in 2 groups of 3]
3: And that's not right!
6: That's 2 lots of 3!
3: 3 lots of 2! 3 lots of 2!
David Read: Good! That's how you climb a stepladder!
3: Jumping 6 miles, jumping 6 miles!
[In the gym]
3: and now,
3: Jumping zero squares at a time, how many jumps will 0 take to get to 6?
[as she counts, 0 shrugs]
3: 1...2...3...4...5...
6: [TO THE VIEWERS] I think this might take a very long time! So why don't you keep your eyes open for more sixes.
