Surge the Tenrec is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. She is an anthropomorphic tenrec who was modified into a villainous cyborg by Dr. Starline with no memories of her past, and the companion of Kitsunami the Fennec. She was made for the intended purpose of destroying Sonic the Hedgehog and replacing him as the hero of the world. After discovering her origins however, Surge would begin seeking revenge on those guilty of taking her past away from her.
