The Mechanic is an unknown man wearing a suit which he uses to control technology and the main antagonist of season 2 of Thunderbirds Are Go. It is later revealed however that he goes to such extremes to acquire the components needed to build a satellite laser cannon named the Sentinel and is aiming to kill the Hood to free himself from his cybernetic eye. When Brains foils this plan however, the latter promises to help free him in exchange for protection by the GDF. By Season 3, he is later freed from his cell by the Chaos Crew, but ultimately goes to International Rescue to help build them a new T-Drive for the Zero-XL where upon he is freed from the Hood's control by Brains and MAX.

- In Ash's Adventures of Thunderbirds Are Go Season 3, it is later revealed four years prior to the disappearance of Jeff Tracy, after spending a year in Alola due to an accident in dimensional tunneling, the Mechanic had given the son of his assistants his blessing before returning to his own world, making him Sophocles' godfather.
