Plot[]
Set in Manhattan, this Top Cat's Adventures TV series tells the story of thirteen-year-old Jake Long who must balance ordinary adolescent transformation with the amazing power and ability to change into the form of a dragon. When he eventually unlocks his full potential and turns into the American Dragon, he will overcome obstacles to protect the magical creatures living in the city, but as his ordinary self, Jake Long can't conquer his crush on pretty blond schoolmate Rose who, unbeknownst to Jake, has an amazing dark secret of her own. She's a natural dragon slayer named Huntsgirl. Jake navigates the city with fellow skateboarders Trixie and Spud, along with Top Cat, Officer Dibble, Pinky, The Brain and their friends and when he gets home, it's to an extended family: a businessman dad originally from the Midwest who doesn't know he's married into a family of dragons, Jake's Chinese mom, his grandfather (who recently immigrated to train his grandson in the ways of the ancient dragon), younger seven-year-old sister Haley (a nascent dragon) and Grandpa's gruff sidekick, a magical Shar-Pei named Fu Dog. Together They will face the dangers of the Magic Realm especially with Top Cat's enemies, Lou Strickland, Norman Snivley, Snowball, The Little Man, Professor Screweyes, Plankton and Dr. Phillium Benedict.

When the Dark Dragon kidnaps Lao Shi, Jake tracks down Rose and tries to convince her to help them. However, Rose refuses to believe him and has Jake arrested instead. While preparing for the battle to come, Jake's father learns the truth and accepts it. Jake betrays the Dark Dragon and a battle erupts with the dragons, Spud, Trixie, Fu and Jake's family against the Dark Dragon's forces. Jake's father destroys the Dark Dragon's demons while Haley and Sun capture Chang, but they are unable to defeat the Dark Dragon until Rose unexpectedly joins the battle. Together Jake and Rose banish the Dark Dragon to another dimension for a thousand years and Rose kisses Jake, explaining she found the picture of the two of them together which restored her memory. |
