Yoshi's Adventures of The Lion King II: Simba's Pride Transcript

We Are One

(Yoshi and his friends wait outside of Pride Rock)

• Sakura Avalon: Nala didn't tell me anything about these Outsiders.
• Littlefoot: None of the other Lionesses told us anything.
• Tom: And we all know that Simba's not gonna tell us anything.
• Jerry: But then how are we gonna figure out more about the Outsiders if no one will tell us.
• Yoshi: I don't think anyone here's gonna willingly tell us anything Jerry, but I think I know who will tell us. Rafiki.

Learning about the Outsiders

(The scene changes to Rafiki's tree. Inside, Rafiki is doing his usual hobby: painting)

• Rafiki: (o.c.) Oh, Mufasa. (mixes paint in half of a hollowed gourd) Every day, Kiara grows more beautiful, (smears blue paint above the painting of Kiara) into a queen that will someday make us all very proud. (more solemnly) But this cub, Kovu, (draws a brown mane on the painting of Kovu) grows stronger, and Zira fills his heart with (smears brown paint over Kovu's heart) hate. (closes his eyes and bows his head) I'm very worried, Mufasa. Things are not going well. No. (The wind whistles, blowing his mane; looks up at some rattling gourds that are hanging from the ceiling) Hmm? You have a plan? (A gourd falls, breaking open on the ground.) What? (lifts the two pieces and looks at them questioningly. He glances up to see that, from his vantagepoint, the gourd pieces seem to surround his paintings of Kovu and Kiara. He slowly moves the pieces toward one another.) Kovu...Kiara... together? (clasps the gourd pieces together) This is the plan? (angrily) Are you crazy?! This will never work! Oh, Mufasa, you've been up there too long. Your head is in the clouds! (pouts, but the wind blows violently; holds up his hands in protest) Okay, okay, okay, okay! All right! Okay! (holds up his arms in surrender) I don't think this is going to work, but I trust you. I just hope you know what you are doing!
• Yoshi Dinosaur: (o.c.) Hello? Rafiki are you home?
• Rafiki: Huh?
• Ash Ketchum: Excuse me.
• Max Taylor: Rafiki, we were wondering if you could tell us something about the Outlands Lions we encountered today.
• Rafiki: What?!
• Diego: Rafiki, I know this is difficult to believe, but we need to know why Simba was acting hostile towards Zira. Especially, since his daughter was just playing with Kovu.
• Zoe Drake: And we even want to know what connection Zira has with Scar.
• Serena: Please, Rafiki, we want to know. Simba wouldn't tell us because we saw how angry he was towards them.
• Dora: And if we tried asking one of the members of the pride, they won't surely tell us.
• Cera: So, we thought you'd be the only one who would be mature enough to tell us more about them.
• Max: Rafiki, please.
• Rafiki: (though hesitant at first, he sighs sadly) Oh, very well. The Outsiders are a group of Lions led by a Lioness named Zira. Simba banished them from the Pride Lands after he defeated Scar and ascended to the throne of Pride Rock.
• May: (in Fuli's voice) Why would Simba banish other Lions?
• Rafiki: Because Zira and her family, they were loyal only to Scar.
• Yoshi and his friends: Scar?!
• Rafiki: Yes! After Scar was defeated, Simba became king, but Zira told Simba he could not rule the Pride Lands. Because Scar had chosen her son, Kovu, to be king.
• Littlefoot: That's just what Zira told us when we first encountered her earlier.
• Rafiki: Really?
• Ducky: Yes, yes, yes.
• Baby Jaguar: But Rafiki, Scar wasn't a real king to begin with. He only cared about himself and turned the Pride Lands into a total wasteland.
• Rafiki: Correct young Jaguar. And that is what Simba told Zira. But Zira would not listen to reason! Instead, she attacked Simba! Of course, Simba won quickly. But after that, he had no choice. He had to banish Zira and her family from the Pride Lands. Forever!
• Clement: So, are you telling us that some of the lions from the outlands are Zira and her family?
• Bonnie: And that they were once part of Simba's pride before they were banished?
• Rafiki: Most definitely. And if Kiara gets caught in the middle of her father's conflict with Zira and the Outsiders, there could be trouble. Much trouble!

Simba's Regret/Yoshi and Simba's Leader to Leader Talk/Yoshi takes Simba to talk to Mufasa

• Wilhelmina: (pours water from a bucket before seeing something shining) Hey what's that? (pulls out a medal with Simba's name on it) It's Simba's Medal of Honour! We must've scooped it up from the river!
• Sakura: It's not like Simba to lose something so special.
• Yoshi: (thinking) Hmm. Simba hasn't been acting like Simba for quite some time now.

(Meanwhile Simba was crying in his cave feeling very remorseful and sad about what he did)

• Simba: (crying) I'm no great king! I'm no king at all! I'm a, I'm a fraud! I'm a, I'm a joke! A monster! I'm, I'm a disgrace! I'm just a selfish jerk! I should've been less overprotective!
• Yoshi: (off screen) Less overprotective about what Simba?

(Simba sees Yoshi standing at the entrance of the cave)

• Simba: (off screen) Um, nothing Yoshi.
• Yoshi: Does it have something to do with this? (shows Simba his medal)
• Simba: Yes Yoshi.
• Yoshi: Simba, something tells me it's time you and I had a leader to leader talk my Lion Friend.

Yoshi's Pals Discussion/Yoshi and Simba's talk with Mufasa/Love Will Find A Way/Kiara's Decision

(Yoshi and Simba go out to a pool of water)

• Yoshi: So Simba, now that you and I are alone, we can now talk leader to leader.
• Simba: Yeah.
• Yoshi: But, I think there's someone who really needs to give you some wisdom.
• Mufasa: (voice) Simba.
• Simba: Father?

Final Battle/Kiara Confronts her Father/Yoshi Shows the Outsiders Kindness

• Simba: Kiara's gone!
• May: Yes she is.
• Simba: Oh no, where could she be?
• Ruby: I betcha she went to find Kovu.
• Princess Rosalina: Why are you so worried Simba? Are you gonna lecture her again?
• Simba: No, I just wanted to apologise to her.
• Dora and Boots: Wait, really?
• Simba: Yes, this all happened because I was too over-protective of her, and because of everything that happened to me in the past. I guess I still haven't gotten over it.
• Chomper: Is that why you've been-
• Simba: Yes Chomper, I've messed up. I should've given Kovu a chance to explain, but my hatred and anger blinded me. You were right Cera, I was acting just like Scar. I should've listened to you, well to all of you. I haven't been a good friend at all to any of you and I'm ashamed of it. I'm sorry Yoshi, I'm sorry Serena and I'm sorry everyone.
• Max Taylor: Simba.
• Diego: We understand, we all get angry sometimes.
• Madison Taylor: And we all make mistakes.
• Serena: But we're glad you've learnt your lesson.
• Max: Even if it meant learning it the hard way.
• Ducky: But we can help you find Kiara and Kovu now, so you can apologise to them. Yup, yup, yup.
• Simba: Thank you, all of you. Now let's go and find Kiara-
• Zazu: (flies into the cave) Sire! Everyone!
• Petrie: Zazu?
• Bonnie: What's the matter?
• Zazu: The Outsiders are on the attack! Heading this way! IT'S WAR!
