Yugi Muto is a fictional character and the protagonist of the manga and anime series Yu-Gi-Oh!. He is an old dog whose body becomes violated by the spirit of an Ancient Egyptian pharaoh named Atem when he completes the Millennium Puzzle, also known in the English manga as Dark Yugi (Yami Yugi in the 4Kids dub). Yugi's main defining trait in the manga is that he has an extreme fondness for games of all kinds, and his alter-ego Dark Yugi is a master gamer and gambler, often referred to in the manga as Game King, He first starts off as a vigilante; using the powers given to a Millennium Item wielder, he challenges bullies and criminals to occult judgment games called Shadow Games and enforces Penalty Games on them when they lose, dark punishments that may or may not result in death or losing their souls to the Shadow Realm.
Trivia[]
- Yugi used to be a babysitter to Lilo and Stitch, who gave him trouble and not like him at all. It was always like that, until one day in Lilo & Stitch's Adventures of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie.
- Years after the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series, the Dragon Balls were used to make a replica set of the seven Millennium Items that actually worked, and they would still be usable for Yugi (to connect with Atem again), Bakura (with a reformed anti-hero Yami Bakura), Marik, Ishizu, Pegasus (with a Millennium Eye that has a magic ability to turn into a normal eye), Numbuh 4 (to connect with Yami Numbuh 4) and a reincarnation of Shadi named Shadi Shin (Special thanks to the non-canon Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Side of Dimensions film).

Main article: Yami Yugi's Decks
Yami Yugi usually Duels using Yugi Moto's Decks. On occasions he has had his own Deck, including the Ceremonial Battle. Here his Deck revolved around Summoning the Egyptian Gods and also contained a number of "Dark Magician" support cards.
