Yui

Yui is an Artificial Intelligence (AI), found by Kirito and Asuna around the forests of the 22^nd Floor of the floating castle Aincrad. Her official name is «Yui-MHCP001» (Mental Health Counseling Program 001).

During a quest that Argo accidentally took on, Yui once befriended a lost puppy which Argo had a fear for dogs, initially Argo was going to cancel the quest but ultimately changed her mind seeing Yui and the pup's sad eyes, she decided to let Yui take care of it and named her Mr. Woofles, she later discovers that she was female and they went for walks together, but after several days had passed, she tearfully decided to let Mr. Woofles go, and eventually released her back to the wild.

After a few weeks passed, Mr. Woofles later returned as a full grown dog to rescue Yui from some kobolds, and thanks to Yui's instructions, Kirito and Argo were able to defeat the kobolds, but Mr. Woofles had been fighting the kobolds the whole time, as she had used up every ounce of her strength to save Yui and passes away in front of her, but Yui later realizes that Mr. Woofles had five pups of her own, and she, Kirito and Argo decide to protect them to keep them safe.

Yui want to get back at those kobolds as there was some left plus its leader, she wanted to defend the forest for Mr Woofles' sake as well as keeping the pups safe, Yui gives them the instructions to Kirito and Argo to attack the kobolds in defense of the forest to make the pups live in peace.

After the kobolds were defeated, they went off to check on Mr. Woofles' pups. One of Mr. Woofles' pups gave Yui the same collar that its mother once previously had, the Coral Leather bracelet that they previously bought, which was now changed to "Coral Leather Bracelet of Bonds" as a present and a memory of Mr. Woofles.

Yui said that Argo was the quest holder, but she told her that she had a chance to pick up some intel from numerous players who took on the quest, and back in the forest when Mr. Woofles returned and sacrificed herself to save Yui, it never happened to any other player other than Yui. When the players fought the kobold waves and the pups returned to learn about their mother's death, that also never happened before. Argo told Yui that she more than taking care of the lost pup, Yui had made a friend, a bond that lasted that still lasts. As a result, Argo said that the "Coral Leather Bracelet of Bonds" belonged to Yui, knowing how much she had loved Yui until the very end, as the quest was soon completed regardless of the outcome, Kirito remembered what Yui said to them, and she was right about Mr. Woofles being a good dog, but more than that, an amazing dog.

Although Yui may never get to see Mr. Woofles again, she reminds herself that Mr. Woofles is watching over her in her heart, and will never forgets the times she had with Mr. Woofles and will always keep this bracelet as a memory of her to keep her safe much like Mr. Woofles did, then she started to admit that she still misses Mr. Woofles due to her passing, and tells Kirito and Argo that she begins to feel a pain in her chest as well as her heart, indicating her sorrow and was feeling heartbroken for Mr. Woofles' death, Argo then give Yui a hug in comfort when Yui starts to cry in grief.

She asks herself about sorrow being a painful emotion, and was it suppoesd to be like this. Argo says it is, and the best way to feel better is to hold someone close to comfort her. Yui then tearfully says that Argo felt warm for her, as she kept grieving over Mr. Woofles who she wanted her to stay and play together more, go for more walks together, run around in the park together, take naps together, but Argo knows how Yui feels, and Yui will never forget those memories and let them fade especially Argo comforting her.

After she overcame her grief and on their way taking Yui home, Argo advises her to tell the players about the quest she once took with Argo being the quest holder, Yui said that she'll tell them about love, the love that you give is the same love that will love back, they won't figure it out by looking at the status screen, if you take on a certain lost dog quest more than anything, create lots of memories with that said dog, Kirito said there will be a lot of happy pups because of her.

Trivia

• In Liam's Adventures of Pokemon the Series, she first made her debut in Cerulean Blues where she was seen as her Navagation Pixie form and was watching Misty's battle against the Invincible Pokémon Brothers.
• She will appear again in Securing the Future! (LAoPtS) where she, along with Kirito and Asuna is shown to join the rest of Alola in showering Necrozma with light so it could return to its normal form.
• In Kieran's Adventures Series, she is Kieran's little sister.
