Zuba
Zuba is the father of Alex. He is seen in Madagascar: Escape to Africa, in which he is the volume's deuteragonist. Originally, he was voiced by the late Bernie Mac, who never got to finish his lines before his death.
Bio[]
Zuba was the Alpha Lion of a pride in the reserve where Alex (then named Alakay) was born. At first he thinks that Alex has returned to take over, but his wife, Florrie, notices that they both have the same birth mark and realizes that Alex is their son. Zuba is a proud father, but he is somewhat confused as to why his son is interested in dancing. After many events in the movie, including Alex failing the rite of passage and shaming his family, Zuba finally accepts Alex.
